LOOK AT THE SERPENT — NOT THE SNAKE BITE

*"The Lord said to Moses, 'Make a snake and put it up on a pole; anyone who is bitten can look at it and live.'"

The children of Israel were dying.

Serpents were everywhere and the bites were fatal.

And God's answer was — make a bronze serpent, put it on a pole, and whoever looks at it will live.

The instruction must have seemed too simple. Too easy.

Surely surviving a fatal snakebite required more than just looking up at a pole.

But that was exactly the point.

The healing was not in a complicated formula. It was in a single act of looking — redirecting the eyes from the bite to the provision.

Many of them were probably lying on the ground staring at the wound, consumed by the evidence of what was killing them.

And all they needed to do was look up.

The provision was already raised. The answer was already there.

Open eyes and a willingness to look in the right direction was the difference between life and death.

Father, I stop staring at the wound. I look up today — at Your provision, at Your promise, at the answer You have already raised. Let my looking be my healing. Amen.
