HELB Loan Application Requirements for First-Time Undergraduate & TVET Students (2026)

Before you start your HELB loan application, ensure you have the following:
 

1. A valid email address and phone number.
    
2. National ID/Maisha Card (if 18 years and above).
    
3. If under 18 years: KCSE Index Number, Birth Certificate, and ID Waiting Card (if applicable).
    
4. Recent passport-size photo.
    
5. Parent(s)' ID Number(s) or Death Certificate(s) if deceased, plus the phone number of the surviving parent.
    
6. KCPE and KCSE Index Numbers with the examination years.
    
7. Institution Admission Number.
    
8. Two guarantors' ID Numbers and phone numbers.
    
9. For KUCCPS-placed students: A bank ATM card or a Safaricom line registered under the student's National ID.
