DEFERRED HELB STATUS — IMPORTANT UPDATE

Students whose HELB status is showing “DEFERRED” and who have not been allocated a loan are advised to check and update their details on the HEF Portal.

If you have since obtained your National ID, make sure you update your National ID number on your existing HEF account.

⚠️ DO NOT create a new HEF account.

This update is particularly important for students who previously applied as minors and are now required to provide their National ID details.

What You Should Do

1. Log in to your existing HEF Portal account.
2. Check your application/status.
3. If you have obtained your National ID, update your National ID number.
4. Submit/save the updated details.
5. Keep checking your HEF Portal for further updates.
